About Felicity

Felicity

Felicity Anscombe has been involved with the fitness industry for more than twenty years. She began as a runner and a gym member and then a few years later studied at the Fitness Institute of Australia to become a personal trainer.

Felicity has worked at a number of Sydney gyms over the last 10 years, most recently as Head Trainer at Fernwood Rosebery, a women-only gym. In 2009 she founded FitWork fitness training in order to take her skills and expertise to a wider audience.

Felicity's approach to training emphasises having fun. She is not the type of trainer who browbeats her clients or barks orders at them - she finds that encouragement is a far more effective approach. Felicity says: "If you're not enjoying yourself, you won't keep it up. My clients and I laugh a lot and I wouldn't have it any other way!"

Like most of her clients, outside her training activities Felicity is a busy parent. As a woman "of a certain age"(!) she brings her full life experience to her training - an in-depth understanding of the stresses and pressures in the lives of her clients and a deep knowledge of the benefits of training for fitness, bone strength and general health as we age.

Felicity grew up in Sydney's eastern suburbs and now lives in the inner west with family and two black poodles - one good, one naughty (the dogs, that is!). When she's not doing her own workouts, running on the clifftops around Bondi, or cooking up large pots of food, she loves to get outside with the family and walk the dogs.
